A NORTH Shields fisherman has put his skills as a talented artist to good use to help produce a charity Christmas cards.

Michael Smith has painted a picture for North Shields Fishermen's Mission that shows fishermen from the fleet gathering at the Mission boat at the end of the 19th century for their Christmas service.

The cards are now on sale from the Fishermen's Mission, at North Shields Fish Quay, priced at £5.50 for ten.

The cost of producing the cards has been fully sponsored by local businessman, Daren Persson, so all the profits raised by their sale will benefit the North Shields Fishermen's Mission.

Are you getting blind now Steve since you retired was pretty obvious to me
Some people accuse me of thinking the world revolves around me, but it doesn't. It revolves around the Sun which shines out of my arse.
