    CN235 Silver Grey....CN236 Nobles, 1932 Nobles of Fraserburgh. Can't name CN199, certainly not Golden Hind CN199,1950. A strong lens on the copy I was given shows 2 names for the boat outside the Silver Grey, the first looks like Golden so she could be Golden Dawn CN119, Golden Fleece CN170....

    Brian, there is family MacDonald in CN who have called recent boats Crimson Arrow and Golden Dawn so CN199 could and probably is Golden Dawn, Golden Hind CN199 was also owned by a Duncan MacDonald jt

    the old fella reckons a CN crimson arrow fished in kincasslagh when he was a wee fella-wether its this one or an earlier one-god knows!

    Frank, there is still a Crimson Arrow in CN today owned by Jimmy MacDonald whose dad got the Dawn Carol (pic on site) built as Crimson Arrow also the N reg Crimson Arrow was owned by them, so will be same family your dad remembers

    must ask him later can he mind of any of the rest of the cn boats names that fished here. did any of the tarbert men fish over here?

    Will ask about Frank, know my grandfather fished IOM, Minch etc, there was  Bobby Hawthorn aboard our boat when we were ringing telling me he fished sharks down the Donegal coast after the war

    never knew any body fished sharks here!-must ask about see does anybody mind although they mightnt have landed in any of the local harbours so it might have went un noticed. was a whaling station on aranmore pre WW1 but they weren`t long tidying up the local stock of whales.
