Far too late in the 1960s. Try late 30s early 40s.

The Cockenzie built June Rose was in amongst them, as was Wee Jock Campbell's Silver Cloud!

Hi ronnie, hazard a guess, does Lothian Star have a Clark connection?
Dunard , no idea when so I will defer to age auld bhoy.
Tam Hughes,  heard him in TT one day at the herring auction having words with someone , can't remember but can mind him replying " A lee, a lee ask ma brither Willie if ah ever telt a lee"

It's possible it might be the Clarks John(Lothian Rose in later years)...as wee Ralphy said to the teacher aboot the wumman licking the ice cream cone "I like your thinking" !! Jusst looked in Angus Martin's book and CN 99 is the Frigate Bird,so that's one...no be many folk still abin the soil that were there on the day that photo was taken lol
Ian[sarge]Gemmell told me a lot of the ayrshire ringers were involved in the Loch Fyne fishing he also talked about the Night Hawk which left Dunure at the same time as the bus taking other crews back to Inverary when the bus arrived at Inverary the Night Hawk was just coming to the pier, supposed to be a really fast boat in her day

    Local yarn here is,
Young fella off the ringers goes into a shop either Furnace or Inverary and old woman asks him where he is from and what he is doing in this neck of the woods.
He tells her, he is at the ring net for herring and is from so and so.
She says to him, away and pack your bags and away home my son for this Loch has killed better men than you.
Here endith the lesson as you say yerself
There must be some great yarns to be told by the older fishermen we will have to get as many of them as possable on here maybe they should have a section just for retierd fishermen, then us younger men can sit back and enjoy the crack

Down the quay yesterday yarning to Kenny Jackson when Spider and Wattie came on us, asked Spider who Sarge was in Navy with but he could'nt mind, but said Donald MacNeil "peelins" and Robert MacDonald "baxy" were in RNVR with big Donald Gibson, Macutcheon all that age group, anyway finished up about hellava rings in the north One Shot Willie,  Davie Gemmel,  Wee Campbell all got a mention, nearly needed to order a fleet of artics to clear their feet
