I always see both sides of the argument, the one that's wrong and mine.....

nice irony that it happens on the day the unveil a memorial to the last one.

Annoying though, them big southern softies seem to get all the fun on the beach these last few years

Hi Boat Happy

The Authorities are hot on the fact that any timbers washed up on the beach cannot be viewed as 'drift wood'  ???

annoyed the hell out me when the last lot came ashore last year that Gordon's Gestapo would rather spend taxpayers money removing it and stopping anyone getting a bit of free timber than let the taxpayer get down there and take a load away for nothing

I'm hoping there's a big westerly blow for a 4 or 5 days to keep it moving then SSE gales for about a week followed by a nice easterly to land it up here!

Hi Mark

Yes it does beg the question as to how much was coughed up by the insurers for the clean up compared to how much it would have cost for Joe Public to help himself

odd, the one in cornwall in 2002, the insurers looked at the cost/value of reclaiming the timber, a decided sod it, let the locals have which they did, the beaches were cleared within a fortnight at no cost to nobody.
