Saturday 17 January WEATHER WARNING A swathe of severe gales with gusts of 70-85mph will sweep across exposed areas of Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and southwest England this afternoon and evening. Overnight gusts of 80-100mph are possible in northwest Scotland and along the north coast of Northern Ireland, easing slowly during Sunday morning. Some disruption and damage are possible. Valid until 2009-01-17 0700GMT.

Monday 1 January WEATHER WATCH Much colder air will bring the potential for frequent snow showers across northwestern parts of the UK on Sunday and more widely across the UK early next week. Some disruption is possible Further updates will appear here.

Lovely morning long gone, blowing a hoolie of southerly now + big tide, water over the fish quay but its about high water just now so should'nt cause any grief, had a power cut and terrestial tele signal went off and wife told me she is the sky controller in this hoose !!!!!!

oh aye theyll get it in ayrshire this time! a good 11 here now-lights threatening to go storm depression right of west donegal at moment and tracking east expecting a bit of a lull and to blow a hooley again-our usual winter weather!

Lets put it like this ah usually ging ootside for a fag but am nae standing oot in that full gale gusts iv noo Jammy but am higher up in the village and oot in the open

Nah thats the ither youngster Rikki fae doon the coast wait till he gets his driving licence might manage as far as Oban ovarrrrrrr
