didn't realise it was a 360 deg towing area the ugie had Kev

big question is does it perform to what they thought

i would have thougth it would have been more susceptible to being unstable towing of the broad side??

Must have a good brake on the swinging system?

I wonder if there are any Tug Masters on here who could comment on how useful this mechanical system is  ;)

Can imagine there are a good few "Master Tuggers".......... ;)
I always see both sides of the argument, the one that's wrong and mine.....

Put that comment in a special section for "cracking good one liners" Barry....that's a coakynut winner right away.

Some learn by reading, some ask questions, others observe...but there's always one who has to pee on an electric fence for himself.

well, there you are brilliant Scottish Engineering, Marvel and was designed and built in Macduff. I think that towing system has huge potential for all tugs wordlwide.
Can that system be retrofitted to a standard tug.

Jim.

Hi Jim

The manufacture is Mampaey Offshore Industries in Holland - the system can be fitted retrospectively, see their brochure (.PDF) @
