I was doing a search on google for the Strathnairn BA276 and found a pic on here, taken  in Troon. Brought back lots of memories. Strathnairn was our second boat, the first being Nimrod, on which I was crew with my toddler son. I learned the wheelhouse stuff while my then husband learned the deck work, so when I got fed up tailing prawns, I could take over in the wheelhouse. I didn't go out much on Strathnairn but helped with ferrying crew about, getting the stores, running around for batteries and engine parts as required, and did the books. I had 2 kids by then.
Looking through all those pics, it was interesting to see I recognised a few of the boats from my fishing days, mostly out of Oban....we lived on an island in Loch Sunart in those days. We bought Strathnairn in the late 70s And when we eventually sold her, she went to Eire, where Gardiner engines were popular.
