Two divers were rescued by a Portland Coastguard helicopter after being swept out to sea by a rip tide.

The drivers were taking part in a drift dive near Grove Point in Portland when their dive boat lost sight of them at 11:40 GMT.

The coastguard was called at midday and local boats joined two lifeboats and a helicopter in the search.

Both divers were found by the helicopter past Portland Bill and were flown back to the helicopter base.

Neither was harmed.

Coastguard Nic Lonsdale said: "If we hadn't spotted them, they could have been in trouble.

"It's hard to see divers once they get out to sea."

I always see both sides of the argument, the one that's wrong and mine.....
