did have a hunt trough the arco website but couldn't spot.  its one of them things that if you say exhaust bandage people know what you mean, but probably has a proper name, without which finding it on a website is a 'mare

markh-    exhaust lagging?    crosslings keep it, if youve got one near you, dont where you are, one the newcastle coast road A1058. Proper names 'glass fibre webbing' , come in a range of breadths, nigh on half the price of ASAPs

was given one source online for it, but know crosslings on the coast road well, they're probably sick of the site of me now taking rusty scabby bits in out of the engine room and saying 'have you got one of them'!

I'll have a wander in next week - ta muchly! hadn't thought of them

wire wrap it, means it can come back of if you blow an exhaust gasket or crack the bellows
I always see both sides of the argument, the one that's wrong and mine.....

Seem to recall the old man getting stuff from the chemist for preserving eggs and using that on the old asbestos rope type exhaust lagging back in the 60s.It was mixed up in a bucket of water and the lagging put in 'til it was soaked then put on the pipe and wired up.It was supposed to stop the rope from falling to bits once it had got hard, don't remember if it was that successful though, probably not. At least you don't get that problem to the same extent with the fibreglass stuff now. That wasn't advice or anything Mark, that was just a bit of a rambling reminiscence....sorry about that mate,I'll take my tablets and go back to bed now  ??? ???

Some learn by reading, some ask questions, others observe...but there's always one who has to pee on an electric fence for himself.

think that stuff is called isinglass ronnie-used be able to get it here for sticking the asbestos rope round the door of the stove-it had instructions on it as well for the mix for preserving eggs.
bend it,and if you can`t bend it,break it.

isinglass?? seem to recall using that in home brew to clear beer or something as well??

still not lagged the exhaust yet!  decided it might be worth finding a new exhaust or fixing the holes in it first!
