should there be a limit on creel numbers per boat in minches?

there should be a limit on amount of creels per boat whether it is a length restriction or a per man amount

ah i couldnt possibly comment on dan or anyone else sit on frnce, ken . so what should the limit be and how should it be managed/checked??

1200 more than enough for a living heard there is some amount of creels off Dunvegan and as for the back of Rassay its a case of dodge the bouy

A boat your size shouldna be allowed ti creel in the minch Angus Gordon Bain made enough outside it with his wee boat afore he got the fast ones ,was speaking to a creel man the other night even he says there should be a limit of 1200 ,its killing the grounds certainly 1200 a species ie prawns ,lobbies or partans

They are doing that now though but at least it would be aff the tows for 2400 of themkeep the others ticht into the hard then no probs abody happy

1200 is ten fleets up here cuzz nae a lot a ken in i winter time i boats here used ti dee day aboot attween prawns an partans i partan een were weel aff i tows wiz oot at i creels wan day 900 creels for i day in i closed area at the back o Rassay 26 st for i day tubed ats nae jist a great amount for lyin twa days need ti gie the boys something but i mesh should be bigger ,i escape panel is nae ees because its under i sand maist o the time

26st is nae a lot but it is bugger all for a trawler either whether single or twin rig

Well at a stems fae i quota cuts o fish,the white fish fleet couldna mak a livin so a lot went prawning ,then i bright lighters, being successfull building new boats havin to fish harder ti get i same money as years before cause their expenses and yours have gone up but i prices have stayed the same,worst thing that happened was twin rig and prawn dip boats biding oot langer catching mair flooding the markets then came triple and multi riggers thank god at hisna caught on here YET ,then you hive the lice thats getting landed drapping the price,its an overhaul o the fishing that needs deen fae closing an area at a time ti limiting trip lengths stopping the weekend fishing,limiting creels athing needs looked at at a Scottish ,#irish ,English and continental levels and maist of all a level playing field

well fishing for near on 25 yrs first five creeling last 20 trawling we never had them on the tows.the last 10yrs has been outa order they just have money 2 burn.or mabye its just greed.

do they think by shooting more and more creels they are doing the market or the stock any good??
