bit of a a long shot this one, looking for a manual, wiring diagram, owt in fact...
just acquired an old sailor vhf - rt142, its immaculate, but dead, trying to bring it back to life, anyone got any info
curious beast, the power supply looks like it plugs in to the handset cradle not in the back like the 144's

really odd arrangement for powering the thing it seems, tracing wires it looks like power goes into the handset first, round some electronics in the cradle, then to the radio on/off switch then back to the handset??

an even longer shot then...
got the thing working, sussed out the stranger power supply wiring, and repaired the power supply, sorted the transmitter out so it does now work as it should - almost
couple of channels not modulating, need crystals I suspect, it is 40 years old and they don't last forever, don't suppose any 'lectronics whizz's out there know of a source?
