Some people accuse me of thinking the world revolves around me, but it doesn't. It revolves around the Sun which shines out of my arse.

FISHING VESSEL SINKS OFF THE ISLE OF LEWIS

Stornoway Coastguard received a Mayday at ten to seven this morning by the Fraserburgh register fishing vessel Faithful Friend II stating that they were taking on water 0.5 miles southwest of the Bayble Isle, Isle of Lewis and the three crew were taking to the liferaft.

Stornoway Coastguard re-broadcast the Mayday to alert other vessels in the area and launched the Stornoway RNLI Lifeboat. The Stornoway Coastguard Rescue Team were sent to the scene should a shore side rescue be required.

The Fishing Vessel Sapphire was close by and rescued all the crew from the liferaft within 10 minutes of the Mayday call. They also reported that all crew were safe & well but the Faithful Friend had sunk.

The crew have been brought back to Stornoway by the Sapphire and the Stornoway Lifeboat have recovered any surface debris and marked the position of the wreck.

Martin Collins, Watch Manager at Stornoway Coastguard says:

The crew have been very lucky this morning. They were fortunate that the Sapphire was close to their position and responded quickly to their Mayday.

The crew had the correct lifesaving equipment on board and gave us all the information that we needed to be able to supply a fast response to their plight.

We would like to thank the crew of the Sapphire for an excellent response and for taking care of the crew of the Faithful Friend II.

shame to hear that, boats can be replaced, people can't so everyone is safe, thats the important thing.
And their teeth will be blunted like lions and they will be cast away on whirlwinds and such!!!!
