CAMPBELTOWN COURIER FRIDAY 31ST JULY 2009

A CARRADALE based fishing boat was reported to be in trouble off Machrie Arran last Thursday morning (23rd July) after there was no response from the crew. The Coastguard called on lifeboat crews at 6.20pm from Arran and Campbeltown to the scene after a report was received that the fishing vessel was going in circles. When the Coastguard tried to contact the crew there was no answer. Fearing for the crew's safety the emergency teams were called to assist but all was found safe and well.

i don't know who, what, or why? and the first thing i'd do would be slap the journalist for the dreadful prose. they use a 19th century dictionary and its obvious the standard is as poor as it ever was, and yes i mean him, last seen filming oot a car window earlier this week for the latest pish DVD from his ego publishing company.
And their teeth will be blunted like lions and they will be cast away on whirlwinds and such!!!!

i was yarning to a skipper in the street this morning and he wasn't going to tell me who it was because he'd been involved in the event from the "rescue" side an an an he said i'd, and i quote him here "jeest go on tae thon t'internet and write some wile droll thing and get me intae bother cos he'll know it wiz me as telt ye"
i had to swear that i wouldn't (kept straight face) and now i see lantern jowls posted a hint wae flashing lights on it.
from what i'm told it could have been a bad thing as they call it, she was into 2 fathom at the school rock when they managed to hail them, i'll assume its as ricki says and the skipper had gone below for a wee half hour while they steamed and had a nap, the eejit in command obviously decided to do likewise within minutes of leaving the harbour, its a damn good kicking and the sack for something like that, dangerous enough without putting your life in someone like thats hands, i'll assume refreshments had been taken, and i don't mean a cup of tea to keep him awake.
