Hi Steve

I see that the sinking gets a mention in Ron Young's book "The Comprehensive Guide To Shipwrecks of the North East Coast Volume 2".

She collided with the West German Motor Vessel KOMTUR ( Komtur went on to become ACQUAVIVA and was broken up 1987) on 13th January 1973, E.S.E. of the South Pier and now lies at N55.00.831 W001.23.571.

Floundered and sank whilst in collision with the KONTUR as she was outbound from the Port of Tyne.

Ron Young reports the wreck as being a small wooden structure which continues to break up owing to winter storms. Standing 3m from the sandy bottom her hull sides and wheelhouse have collapsed. He is unsure as to whether she still has her propeller attached.
