What is the general opinion of the latest edic from Brussels agreed by all Fisheries Departments in UK.
To get 200 TR2 days for 2012 it is a condition that 20days (480hrs) must be worked with "Highly Selective Gear" namely a Swedish Type Grid or as yet an unapproved(by Brussels) net named as the "Highly Selective Nethrop Trawl" to enhance selectivety, whatever the fuck that is. to reduce the Cod catch and therefore discards by 60%.
It does not matter one iota if you work the full 200, 150, 100 or only 21 days per year, you must work 20 of the days (480hrs) with Highly Selective Gear to qualify for  TR2 Days at Sea.
Is it not time to tell the various Fishery Departments whether you are an English, Welsh, Northern Irish or Scottish prawn fisherman "enough is enough" and we ain't going to work with what was agreed behind closed doors in Brussels.
