Caressed Breast

This is an unusual sculpture that sits in the coble stones in the centre of Amsterdam.

"In the past fifteen years an unknown artist has beautified the streets of Amsterdam with various sculptures. Their creator has left the surprising bronze and iron statues secretly in the small hours of the night. We now know that the artist is a local doctor, who is an artist in his spare time. The city of Amsterdam has accepted his works, on the condition that the identity of the artist is not revealed.

A bronze women's bust graces the pavement in front of the Oude Kerk on Oudekerksplein square. A link is easily made with the boldly displayed female bodies near the Oude Kerk, which is situated right in the heart of the Red Light District. At Leidsebosje a small man is working up a tree. He is sawing through the very branch on which he is standing. In Marnix Park a man with a violin case is rushing in the direction of Marnix Street. Is he trying to catch a tram? A remarkable feature: the man does not have a head! In the entrance of the City Hall/Music Theater a violinist bursts through the tiled floor. Ten Kate Markt boasts a bronze statue of a musician."
