Looks fantastic. Must pop in and see her some day.
Impressive, how many litres of varnish does a once round take?
Good evening Angus, the port side after having a coat of Danish oil took from the upper belting/rubbing strake to the white line fore and aft, 2 coats letonkinois 2.5ltrs, which I thought was good. first time I have used this stuff, lovely to work with when you get used to it, like syrup but spreads well. the plan is to do the same to the starboard side then put her back in for the winter. I have yet to renew the putty then further coats of letonkinois, this can get done again from a small pontoon. The plan just now is to expose and preserve the wood.
Sounds like you will use bout 10 litres for 4 coats which I agree is not bad for this surface area. My impression so far is that the Letonkinis may well be less work to maintain than a painted surface in that it develops over time a patina as oposed to paint which just looks shabby. However the Jury is still out with me on that one.
