stern shot of the new research boat Alba Na Mara, i have no idea what that hydraulic contraption is on the port side of the stern, some big arm with blocks hanging from it that can be extended and raised or lowered.
For launching and retrieving the ROV?
thought it had some sort of purpose like that with the different holes for blocks, no doubt it cost about five times that of a decent crane that could do the job just as good, that thing is limited in its movement, hell the method most of the twin riggers uses for the towing point would work just as good, but thats fishery research boats for you, all set up to replicate normal fishing conditions. how does willie shoot and retrieve his ROV?
