MARGARET ALISON

MARGARET ALISON

Margaret Alison late 70s ... just off the beach after a paint-up and dressed up for Tarbert Seafood Festival
By then we had inherited Village Maid II's original wheelhouse
Mostly contract laying and retrieving yacht moorings around the Clyde area at that time, working some lines and creels only occasionally
Built as the ring netter June Rose for the Clarke family of Fisherrow

Hi Jay, the Village Maid's wheelhouse fitted well, sometimes they can look odd.  So what sort of length was she? 52ft overall?  What engine etc.  I take it she was a early weatherhead?

    Cheers OB34
Yes, it worked well ... fortunately the deck cambers were much the same
MA was built in 1937 though Part I papers claimed late 40s (see the old pic of June Rose as I've scribbled something there). Loa was 47ft, breadth 15ft
Typical Weatherhead of that period ... fast but a bit of a heid banger in a seaway
