    HI STEVE,
ONCE ON OF THE BIGGEST COAL PRODUCING COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD, NOW IMPORTING FROM POLAND WHAT WE ARE SITTING ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!AND THEY CALL THAT PROGRESS  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
    Hi Paul

Yes - Coals to Newcastle - makes you cry  ;D

Rationale is that the resources that we do have left will in years to come be mined using techniques not yet invented - by then we will have used up the rest of the World's coal!

Of course the coal that does come into the Port of Tyne is a swiftly transported by train to the Power Stations 'doon sooth'.

    Regards

the poles r giving the government the coal 4 nowt to pay the interest on the money wot poland owes the uk
    Hi Kevin

Just a shame that instead of cheap coal being dumped in the UK it couldn't have been OIL  ;D

Of course if the plans for a new coal fired power station at Cambois get passed we will see much more coal coming into the Tyne - then on trains to Cambois as its evidently too expensive to convert the Port of Blyth to take Panamax Bulkers!

    Regards

    Steve E.
