There would be a coakynut tree for the one that could name his neebur Any idea who it was just out of interest?
sorry ronnie I should have put name& number on both photos she's the gloaming LH14 belonged to eustace robertson who was a wee bit eccentric had loads of boats but hardly used them
I must be the same as I've got TWO of his old boats had THREE but third one was to far gone to restore!

That's a blast from the past right enough Davy,ma faither bought the Gloaming from him around 1956 sometime.I cannae remember her,but I think she was a wee Fifie wi' a J4 Kelvin in her.The bill of sale for £375 was kicking aboot the hoose for years, must have a rake the next time I'm doon there. He sold her (cannae mind where to)maybe a year later after having a lot of bother wi' his back and being laid up for a while with it. Does stick in my mind him remarking on the previous owner being "a bit unusual" !! He was working oot o' Rothesay/Millport at the creels wi' the Halcyon when yer old man was there wi the Euphemia at the creels as well and he tellt me a few stories about their escapades....maybe no enough tae fill a book, but enough for a guid few chapters !! PS...coakynut tree will be delivered by lorry to your home address lol
