Pacific Brigand with Sealand Express behind

    Hi Barry

I see that Sealand Express went on to be renamed CMA CGM GARDENIA - this was after 250 tonnes of steel was used to repair the under hull damage caused when the ship went aground in Table Bay on 19 August 2003.

Took us six weeks to get her free of the beach, had a dredger in that move about a million cubic metres of sand, basically dug a trench the length of the Sealand Express and four tugs pulled her into the trench.
There was hell on about the whole events surrounding it
    Hi Barry

Possibly made worse by the presence of raioactive material and explosives within her manifest  ;D

Yeah they kept that one quiet from us for a while as well, shed load of Tequila if I remember right as well, they took most of the containers off with one of those strange lookin helicopters with middle missing out of it, and thats the technical name for it
