Usually about 1500 or a bit more can touch 8 knots going south/downhill!

I actually knew someone who thought you used less fuel going south on the chart, he also had his own interpretation of the Beaufort scale, one day he came out with, the wind is GALE force 2. a bugger to go to sea with as well you couldn't do much as you were always laughing.
We run Christina at 1400 to get 7.2 knots, will touch 8.5 at 1800/1900, but that's it, engine just burns fuel at that. Maybe compare notes if we get to Tarbert next festival.
