Small seine netters landing at Peterhead late 50's.
I think this photo may be dated approx 1948 the part of the market to the right of the dogleg was completed in 1948. I think that immediately after completion the granite quay was faced with several feet of concrete.During the work the Aberdeen registered MFV Elizabeth Robertson was manoeuvering in the harbour and her engine controls jammed in ahead, 2 divers were working on the bottom and the boat cut their pipelines but they were still attached to their signaling ropes and quickly hauled up.In the 70s I was introduced to John Murray who had been a top Aberdeen seine net skipper.While reminicsing about the old days I told him the story of the divers, he looked at me and said " I was the skipper"
