HMS Switha, build A&J Inglis at pointhouse on the clyde during the war converted into a Tank cleaning vessel mainly used at Plymouth, sunk as a Target in the 80's???? we talking about the same vessel here
I certainly remember this Switha running ashore on a very well known rock in the Forth, she was inbound after being on patrol, she was blown up with explosives and the skipper later became the boss of the fishery dept in Scotland

She's on the Herwit rock off Inchkeith, been there since 1980.I think she was built around 1948 so I doubt if there would be many tears shed by anybody on her loss!

Do I detect just the merest hint of cynicism in that comment KY lol That's modern Britain for ye ma freend, reward the hero (ex squaddies and such like) with an OBE (order of the booted erse) and the failure (bankers etc.) with a better job and a pay rise...it was ever thus.

There's certainly never been such a thing as a level playing field, one law for some, different law for others.Ye just need to look at fat cat bankers,M.P.s and others of that ilk as a prime example. When they get cought wi' their fingers in the till it's "an honest mistake, easily made",slap on the wrist(if that),case dismissed. For the rest of us it's "theft, robbery, despicable act",2 years handed down...ah'm no ony mair cynical than you are really !!
