Dawn Pearl back in the water

They held her on the crane for a while till she had taken up a bit

You'll be glad she's back in the wet zone then!

You can see the larch planking for the bulwarks stacked on top of the mast - ran out of time. Once I have her at her berth I will keep on going with the bulwarks. As you can see they need planked, stringers fitted name boards etc etc. Should keep me going for a while but will not stop me from using her

I have been following your progress Hugh. There is a lot of surface area to cover on these boats and it takes a while just to get a coat on them. They are a lot slower to paint than yachts due to their patina which takes a good deal of working away with the brush and roller just to make sure you have all the craters filled with paint.

It will keep you out of mischief (and you Hugh)
I'm glad I bought a Hillyard instead of caving into temptation
The Management put her foot down, so that was that  ... and I guess she'ss right (unfortunately)

We only took on The Gem because the "mangement" Carol and Val prefered the space available below to the smaller boats we were mulling over.....jesus when will I ever stop to take stock and stop agreeing with everything my wife says?? I should have put my foot down....too late now
    Shug.

I remember the Gem when she was nearly new. The 60s into the 70s was a brilliant time for Alex Noble especially ... all bonny boats. Now so few left

I take my hat off to you; she's a hefty beast of a boat to get back into trim. She used to have a 200hp Gardner; what's she got now?
