North Shields Fishquay

North Shields Fishquay

A postcard dating from the 1920's of the Fishquay at North Shields.

Ah yes. The days before the CFP (Brussels' WMD!!). Nice one Steve.
    Hi Ambleman

Interesting to see that they didn't bother with painting the North Western side of the Low Lights - either that or it has been blackened with the smoke from the steamers. Also the advert for Andrews Liver Salts made me smile - need for that following a night in the low Town pubs me thinks  :)

Andrews: wasn't it, "For inner cleanliness"? - In the days before probiotic bacteria and before chickens had nuggets!!!
    Hi Ambleman

Yes thats the stuff - supposed to settle the guts  :)

Of course it was invented in Newcastle - St Andrews Street, thus the name!

    Regards
