Bring a few memories back YR
Can certainly remember the island wi' the light on it Davie, and the wee fishery cruiser o' the same name. Cannae say I was aquainted wi' the rock in the foreground though, neither passing nor hitting it! To tell the truth,I was only once ever in North Berwick (wi' a boat I mean) when I was at the creels..havenae been down that way for donkeys years.
Aye Ron the one time I was in there on a boat was on the Euphemia and that was a really long time ago!
Certainly wouldnae be yesterday at that rate then! The time I was there in the wee creel boat we got blown up the Firth wi' a gey stiff Easterly wind, was mighty glad to get the ropes ashore that day.Up to yon room that the old retired fishermen used to go and got a heat at the fire then over the road for a beer before getting the bus back to Dunbar...just managed to rake up enough for two pints of light at 1/6 each,we didnae have enough for lager at half a croon a pint! Aye,1/6 a pint? for 7.5p nowadays ye wouldnae get enough ale as would wet the ar*e o' the gless
its gonny be £3 a pint shortly, a weeks wages fae back then sometimes..
