Spot on Steve, My brother bought her in 2006 as Kelly B and he changed the name to Kaylana in August 2006. She was built originally as "Thistldoto" and she was AH Registered but i cant remember the numbers.
Built by Hinks of Appledore and Teignmouth (TH) registered as Thisldoto, started life pair trawling for mackeral with the Girl Rhona

Don't suppose you've got any photos of her from when she was new?? The oldest photo i've seen of her was probably from the 80's when she was Bounty II PD92.
Sorry, i haven't got any but she looked the business brand new varnished hull, no whaleback, shelter or anything else. Had a Baudouin in her then

Her original number was AH 115, Not sure why as she was built for a Teignmouth owner, Reg Matthews.
The only reason I could think of is because she was Napier designed (are they Arbroath based ?)
As Daz has said she had beautifully varnished hull when new, unfortunately she also had a huge stern gantry & tripod mast painted bright orange.
The wheelhouse still looks original but higher.
By the time she left Teignmouth her hull had been painted light blue.
She was built very much with mackerel in mind had a boom-swinger, landing winch, transducer cable winch & net drum, all of which were very unusual on local boats at the time.

When we stripped the paint back to the bare wood we could tell then she was varnished originally. The hull is immaculate and is almost as good as the day she was built. Still a very dry boat for her age. You can also see where the wheelhouse was raised about 2 feet. There'd be some difference in her now to what she was when new then!! She was designed by Napiers of Arbroath right enough.
