    remember all of these fine boats. when i was about thirteen or fourteen i used to help martin and gordon from whities delivering the stores to the albert edward dock in north shields.
    then i used to help colin jameson to take them down for fuel and ice,  used to get ten quid. the dock was full of scotchmen then, pair teams and fly shooters.  nova spero, stardust, starella, scarlet line, scarlet chord, mayflower, persevere, all of the moodies boats (which i  later work on the sharon rose)  aye happy days, then you would see them all belting down the river away to sea on a sunday night
    sure it had a 500hp kelvin in her
    built with a 400 kelvin then reengined with a500 kelvin in later
    LIBERTY old skipper of urs on the whaleback possibly other 1 could be ACKIE COULL
    aye old ralph was on her told me some cracking stories and some frightning ones as well.said the exhaust used to glo red when steaming in just to hit the pub
    Bet he never told u about the time he broke the wheelhoose windy
    Possibly the best wooden seine netter built for LH..
    hard to beat herdies for style.
    I they took a bit o beating she was a great seaboat this one she dwarfed most o the other 80 footers more noticable when she lay alongside some o them .80 grand when built.
    the jesmond,lah roi and the scarlett line were about the best looking boats of the port seton boats that i seen
