Village Maid II ... Tarbert Seafood Festival in the late 1970s. One of the Jackson family's two boats, the Maid was commanded by Willie (The Count) Jackson, who kept her fastidiously clean
cracking pic
This is a fantastic angle of the Maid. When she came to Mallaig she had a 270 Volvo and she was one of the fastest boats in the Mallaig fleet at that time. Quicker than the Solan and the King Fisher. They were quick! Solan had a 320 Kelvin and the King Fisher had a 415 Cat. The Village Maid was long and narrow (at the shoulders) that they were flying machines. The Margaret Ann is running about with this wheelhouse. Am I right in thinking this was not the original wheelhouse to the Maid either?
S'funny, I was thinking the wheelhouse looked familiar, though there were a fair few wheelhouses built by a joiner in Carradale (name forgotten). The Maid's original wheelhouse went to the Margaret Alison, which I owned
Thanks for the comments about this pic; I have a bunch more, but they need scanning in

mathew mcdougal from carradale built the wheelhouse
hows it going tman you at sea yet
Do you have any pictures of the Margaret Alison? Also, I am a weatherhead / nobles enthusiast and find it hard to get "quality" pictures of these boat in there prime. The Saffron for example, I have not seen a photo without all the extra shelter decking. Also The Maggie MacLean and the Minnie MacLean, Westerlea (wooden), Alapied(s) (not spelt correct). Any of these in there prime would be worth seeing.
