    Hi Paul

Built in 1899 by John Jones & Sons Liverpool as TOXTETH for the Alexandra Towing Co Ltd, Liverpool. In n1901 she was sold to the Admiralty and renamed C111 Toxteth. The sold in 1930 toFrance, Fenwick Tyne & Wear Co Ltd.

    Official Number - ON110579
Steel built Tug, 148 gt, 92.0 ft LOA, 20.0 ft Beam, 10.9ft Draft.

She sank off Sunderland Fishquay in 1955 and later raised - scrapped by Clayton & Davie Ltd, Dunston on Tyne in 1968. Evidently she sank overnight whilst alongside the Quay and only the top of her funnel and mast could be seen. The reason for the sinking was never established.

    Hi Paul

No problem - I have a copy of 150 Years of The Maltese Cross - The story of Tyne, Blyth and Wear Tug Companies by John H. Proud - its well worth a read as it charts the full history of Tugs on all three Rivers. Some great photographs and copies of all sorts of memorabilia  O0
