we caught this rudder stock (i think thats what it is) it was the full width of the boat plus a bit more, does anyone know a bit about these things, what age would you think it is?
something that big is going to be getting on a bit. where about was it?
it was caught in the thames estuary, it was up the edge of a channel
just a thought but weren`t the pintles usually on the rudder? and the pintle eyes on the sternpost?
yer not wrang, makes it a muckle big rudder. some fairly historic ships in the thames, get yersel back there, pretty sure there's no quota restrictions on bronze cannon at the minute!
lol yer i rekan, unfortunatly it was too big and heavy and when it cleared the water it tore threw our gear and back to the bottom of davy jones, marked it so maybe we'll have another go
