a view of the Carradale fleet taken sometime in the 1950's

my knowledge of the names of the boats is sadly lacking, only one i can make out is CN 120 Maid of the Mist, all at the ring net by the look of things, i don't even know who the person in the picture is or who took it, i found it recently among my mother's vast family collection, so its been in my family since it was taken tho my father would more than likely have been a young man and aboard another carradale boat Maid of Morven at the time.

CN 71, is that the Bairns Pride, inside boat against the quay?
    alongside her the Harvest Queen?
Alongside Maid of the Mist, outside, Queen of the Fleet ?

CN 76 could be Sunshine, looked at Sir Freddy Gillies' book "Goodbye to Boots and Oilskins" as a reference.

CN76 is definately the Sunshine, Futher info "Maid of the Mist" was VB 11 built 1940 and sold to Carradale 1957 when replaced by VB 111 the ex CN184 Margaret Newton.

i watched the short silent clip of the opening of the new pier so this pic might have been taken later than i imagined? i just thought it must have been taken before the granny moved to the town in the late 50's? i've no idea who the person in the picture is or who took the pic, i found it in my mother's collection, it must be someone well known to a family member at that time and the only one i remember from childhood as being a visitor to the house is jack sprat?

had another peer at it and it could well be gylie!!! speaking to him over at the hospital the other week and it just has a look of him, he used to visit too for many years, something about that jumper? makes me think its argyll mcmillan.
iT would be later than the 50's the bairns pride was'nt there at that time, would be 60's
Amy Harris between the Florentine and Harvest Queen.
Morris the fellow on the Maid of the Mist looks like Matt Mc Millan

bit too tall to be matt, or alistair for that matter, could even be a towrist, can't think why there would be a pic of matt in my family? theres very few pics taken prior to my parents marraige, on my fathers side and most of them feature one or other of the two carradale men i previously mentioned, all i do know is it is not my father or one of my uncles, no way would it be my grandfather who was in his 70's when he died in mid 50's and being a forestry man had no interest in the fishing, could be one of my fathers older half brothers or cousins (deliverance country you know!!!)
