Jock Campbell's Silver Cloud CN 267 and her neighbour Noss Head CN 144 inside at the end of the old Brunel pier at Carradale. Probably in the early 1940s. Neither of them returned from World War II.
never seen a pic of the old pier in carradale before, heard plenty from the old man and the uncles, no wonder it was replaced, looks like it was built from the scrap that lies on the pier these days!!! lovely lines on these boats!!
This was the first iron pier in Scotland and was designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel. It would probably be listed today had it survived. It was built on two levels, one for the steamers and the other for the fishing boats.
