Built Fairlie 1949....doesn't look typical though? Any details on her history?
Hi Brian Anne Philemena CN 159 Built by Forbes Peterhead 1948
Name changed to Favonius Jan 1951. Sold to Arbroath June 1954.
Didnt know Forbes had a yard in PD are you sure it wasnt the Sandhaven yard certainly has their lines
Ithink they had a yard in PD as well, I think the Kathleen was built in Peterhead
The Nan Mc Murar & Maureen both CN ringers were built by Forbes

Looks very like John "Doods" Utopia George,I think she came from Arbroath did she no? No the same boat by any chance?
I can't remember the Utopia's name before Doods got her will need to ask some of the Tarbert boys

    quiet waters

interesting to see the big empty field on low askomil in the background, theres a few bungalows along that bit now and they've been there at least forty years or more, prime real estate.

Was this one not Boy Ken in Portavogie? of the other two one finished up as a conversion called Charna lay in Tarbert on mooring in the Deuchland last owned by Howard of Rhu, before that think it was someone from Paisley, Morton?
Dood's Utopia was bought from Hopeman when wooden Alkaid was launched.
Brother Charlie say's this boat was Doods Utopia, the Charna was the Kathleen CN 164
Blackwood Morton had her converted Neil Smith was skipper then sold to B Howard at Rhu
The Nan Mc Murrar was sold to Port Avogie name changed to Boy Ken
Maureen sold to Port Avogie name changed to Pathway, all built in Peterhead
I remember lying alongside them in Port St Mary at the Ilse of Man fishing.

Aye would say Charlie correct George, Neil hairy was aboard her right enough, used to come with us to ringing in the winter early 60's and was aboard Boy Ken in CN when we were at broon heid fishing looking at the 150hp Gardner that was just put into her.
