this was my grandfather anderson's last boat the ring netter Marie noble's of girvan 1963 59ft seen at the side of the wheelhouse is my father.
in the latter stages of this boats fishing carreer it ended up with the whole family having served on her from grandfather and his brothers to father and uncles to myself and cousin before being deregistered and sold to become a floating workshop for an electrican down south of england

    When it came to building a bonny ringer,Mr.Noble was certainly a class act.
    not sure about this but he had a rule of thumb that his boats had to have no more than 1/3 bean to length ronnie but unsure about that also got told he said that green was an unlucky or bad colour for his boats but have to say the "ringer green" suited this style

    Ayeways thocht her the bonniest o' the bunch. Different frae a' the rest. Lines sweeter or something.
    Peety the crew werny as braw Jammy! They used tae ca' them "The Black Gang", due tae their swarthy looks.
    Wuz there ever ony Spaniards wrecked on Arran?

    that is a photo i took of the full photo davie it hangs in my house thru the wall from what used to be my grandfathers house where it was for a good 40 yr
    Lovely boat James I think the ringers were the bonniest of them all, end of an era
    Baith the Nobles built bonnie boats at either end o the country but these varnished are bonnie as hell
    just something about the line of these
    i think off the top o my head 10 ppl of the one family have worked on this boat thru her years
