Harvest Queen CN167, inside CN118 Regina Maris, Acacia outside.
Acacia Harvest Queen Regina Maris
Thanks Gillette...Acacia....I have a photo of her with a traditional wheelhouse, and her distinct mizzen mast. When was the stepped wheelhouse fitted and where and when was the Acacia built?
The Acacia was built by Palmers in Port Avogie not sure of the year 1947/48
This photo would be around 1954 /55 she was bought by Irishbrothers and had
the new wheelhouse built and installed by the owner Matha Mc Dougall of Carradale
before they took her home.

how come they are all cruiser stern it seems that all the boats around that time had them
would have been around this time that a lot of the fishermen came ashore and went to work in the machrihanish pit, my father and one of my uncles were there for eight years before they went back to sea when he bought the Quiet Waters and Evening Star, quite a few blamed the pit for their bad backs, nothing to do with years at the ringing? i know which i'd prefer.
yes the acacia was built in albert palmers, sons, in year 1949.the only boat to be lanched head first from that yard.
