i spent a few years on this with john buchan(r.i.p) sound bloke to work for but i could never get him to swear
A decent christian mannie John right enough.Fine big boat that, another one that was far too good to break up.I think she was a Sandhaven build?
Was she in Kyleakin BRD registered at one time.
Think she was registered BRD 141 at one point. Was she no built for up that way?
i think she only ever had the two owners. john bought her from kyleakin. she still had the original gardner engine in when she was cut up.
Built for Evander & Alister McRae Kyleakin by Forbes 1961/2 this was a good ringnet boat low wooded lay to a net well this one. The men that had this boat plus the Misty Isle knew no other but ringneting never went to nothing but ringnet. they sold a good boat called the Acorn Reekie boat when they got this one built.
Did a few trips on this one when Kyleakin owned on the school holidays, had a good turn of speed, Gardner6l3b 150hp Left Mallaig together with the Crystal Sea 240 or 210 kelvin for the Curachan Crystal only a quarter mile ahead at the other side .Arrived in Kyleakin new in Nov 62. Sold in 79.
Did the Acorn go to Brid,
I mind a bonny north country called Acorn there and she had a look of Reekies about her?

she did George Emmerson had her, 132kelvin manual start Emmerson re-engined her, like new when she left Kyleakin, up there along side of the best when it came to catching herring with a ringnet the Kyleakin men.
