uncle john working in the gulf of mexico

    Hi Terry

Nice to see the semi submersible rig Uncle John - I photographed her in the Tyne back in the 1970's when she was at Smith's Dock, North Shields, will have to dig out the photographs  ;D

    Regards

    Steve E.
i was on her from 2001-2005 working for caldive in the gulf of mexico then i went back last year for a couple of trips she is in excellent condition for her 30 years . they are constantly upgrading her all the time. she has a got a load of work for chevron doing rig abandonment she basically cuts all the platforms up that have been laid on the seabed by the hurricanes then recovers them to the surface bit by bit. when i left there was talk of chevron extending the contract by another 2 years.
