mamas home made soup

At will keep yi warm on a day like this Rikki me boy ,when I was a boats cook I had a pot of soup on every day for the boys for watch or coming off deck ,canna beat it hope ye said thanks ti yer mammy

hardly enough there for me!!! my lot made a pot on setterday and allhands had some for lunch, "theres plenty for the morra's lunch" some hopeful person said, och i don't know how but it was all gone when they got up on sunday, its a tricky diet this "i can't have a fag, what will i eat?" thing, i polished off the four tins in the cupboard last night so i've had to make another pot this morning, think the big pot is called for, saw this pic and had to go thru for a tester, thank you, sitting nursing a burnt mooth noo and the jelly i made is in the fridge, naw set yet, i'll need a wee oxo cube in a cuppa hot water to tide me over till the soup is ready, disna have a nice ham end in it like that wan i see pokin oot the dish there tho, mmmmm soup!!!!

My dear old Maw used tae make braw pots of lentil soup with a smoked ham end for us taking tae sea,and as the old saying goes "yon's the stuff tae give the troops"...stick tae yer ribs and s hite through the eye o' a needle at forty paces efter a couple o' platefuls...mooth's watering jist thinking aboot it lol
