Tonijn


    This vessel was made in 1944 as a wooden German warship, a KFK (kriegs fish kutter) kutter. They made about 1040 of these vessels on shipyards in Polen, Germany, Holland, Belgium and even Turkey. The vessels were made as a warship but whit the intention to become a fishing vessel after the war. The vessels that were left after the war were taken by the US and later sold to Holland.
    In Holland the ships were transformed in to fishing vessels, the wooden hull became iron and the put in stronger engines. A example of one of these beamers was the “Linquenda” BM 202.
    The vessel on this picture became a fishing vessel in 1954 as “Stern” KW 36.
    She was 22 x 6.35 meter and a 250 pk Bolnes engine.
    In 1973 sold as “Yvonne” SCH 36 but in 1974 there was a confiscation by the authority’s for Smuggle.
    After this she was sold to Van Laar in IJmuiden as “Tonijn” and used for offshore and sport fishing.
    In 1999 she got a Mitsubishi engine and in 2004 she was lengthened to 29 meters.
