ISLAND BAY FISHING FLEET 1960

ISLAND BAY FISHING FLEET 1960

The Island Bay fishing fleet taken in the 1960s.
The fishing community has been there since the late 19th Century and was established by Italian and Shetland Islanders.Vessels still fish from the "Bay" but as the Island is part of a marine reserve boats are only allowed to moor there and land their catch. Fishing operations have had to move out of the reserve area.
