For willie and bfsanders...some autographs of the Rangers team in the early 60s when they werenae big girl's blouses like they are noo lol
well you have let it out the noo yer Obans blue nose .
not many got past Harry Davis.
if they did, they only did it once !!!!
if they did, they only did it once !!!!
At last a gentleman of a certain age who remembers them,I was thinking they would all be too young to know the likes of Bobby Shearer,Eric Caldow,Davie Wilson and Ralphy Brand !!
aye Ronnie these boys plaid for the jersey no for money like the now.
Can't see Billy Richie there Ronnie
He wasn't there that day.It was a dinner in Dunbar that they attended after our local team won the Scottish junior cup in 1961 and they were buying poscards in my Uncle's newsagents shop earlier that day.My Aunt grabbed a copy of the book "The Rangers Story" and got them all to sign it for me (she was the one in the family with the brass neck to do that !!)It was one of my boyhood "treasures" lol
My ooold head teacher was ex Rangers , Hearts and St Mirren player Jim Rodger and Colin Jacksons wife comes from Glendale
Ye would have bought the club, lock, stock and barrel back then for the price of one good player now Willie.I'm sure it said in the book that 60-100 pounds a week was their basic wage back then...changed days !
Aye the wages were set at a maximum back in them days thats why so many ex players still work for the clubs to some degree Ronnie no the same savings as the boys can get noo
Compared to a working man's take home pay Willie,100 quid would be a fortune back then. They were worth it though...that's me fairly shown my hand now..nae coakynut for guessing the colour o' ma nose !!!
