Tarbert Harbour 1960's

Tarbert Harbour 1960's

Picture taken from the Frigate by my Dad, owner of silver and black Cambridge in Photo. We think the end boat is the Golden West, which unknown to the old man he would buy some 15 Yrs later, hopefully others can name the boats better than me.

More commercial than pleasure boats in those days John?  Nice to see all those varnished hulls.

Bob if we had left the wheelhouse that size you would have landed on the deck instead of the prawn iron on the gunwhale when you fell of the roof and would not have the scars to prove it!

    Crechan,

I have just spoken to my mum who advises me that this picture was taken in the summer of 1960 probably June/July time as she was pregnant with Bob at that time.

Hi Guys, the date mystery is solved, the picture frame has a date of Jan 66, so that being the development date the picture had to be taken in 65.

Really glad some of you have confirmed the Golden West in the photo.

Bob, crechan, dowler, Bluebell was bought by Archie october 65 and agree with crechan that is her at jeck's quay, also Duncarrach was painted Admirality blue and window surrounds a hellish orangey colour the old fella mixed up summer of 67, big white wall was done same time, its no been done there yet. So would say thats 1966.
speaking to man himself this morning coby says 66 john lot of stuff killed in short time  i was talking to him
    Crechan,

Spoken to mum and Bob and yes you are right the picture has a date of 1966 on it so it was probably taken at the tail end of 1965.
