Bought this in the Barra's about 10 years ago hope I am not infringing any copyright.
To-gether we stand, divided we fall...jist an awfae peety we still havenae got the message yet....some day maybe, some day !!
all i can say is that is a great picture for being an old one
great to share it here
great to share it here
seen that pic before, in fact i do believe my brother in law has one from the series framed in his hoose, one or two i think featured in a recent book, one of my uncles was aboard one of the boats that took part in this event, not sure which boat, might have been the maid of morven?
Thanks for that Dunard its good to know that pulling together sometimes works.
do not see a brailer on these boats they must have still been using the basket to empty the net,i have heard john simpson of dunure was the first to use the brailer,he had seen it worked in canada or nova scotia, maybe someone will have an idea of the dates or if it was used elsewhere before john simpson used it
if that was the case bout infringing copyright most would be in jail keys put to the botton on the sea, think if the photographs are good should let the public see them have had lots put on sites and in books that have taken myself but don,t bother me in the least as say show you photographs keep in step with time to many old and lovely old herringringer and lots more old boats picture lost and put by you would think its was gold their were hiding.
