Fine looking machines these last wooden one from MacDuff - How long till one appears on the Clyde tho!?
one of the first of the full shelter wooden macduff 68' class is already fishing the clyde. the old Caspian. cant mind her current name now. fishbuyer from tarbert owns her. works out of portavogie.
just remembered shes called Deliverance now.
is there any yards building wooden boats now
I dont know of any being built. I suppose Macduff could still build you one and maybe Toms yard in Cornwall. There was a fellow in Skye who built a 30 or 40 foot creel boat for local owners a few years back. I think it is a real shame that wood has been replaced by steel. considering how long these wooden boats lasted. The lack of decent boats in the 40 foot plus category is going to be a real problem soon. Unless there is a grant scheme then you will see further reductions in the fleet. Just what Brussels want.
steve cook in whitby can still build you a wooden boat.
