Well spotted Jay, one of my last jobs in the Navy
was as a signalman on her in the 80s. Thought it would
make a nice model to build from scratch. Not built one
for a long time so plodding along with it.

    wow, fond memories then
was once told that there was a royal turd mounted in a glass case in the pussers' mess, but I'm sure that wiznae true
so, not content with buggering about with a big aul' ringer, you're building the royal yacht! Graceful lines
Having finished (???) the Ribhinn Donn I a year or so back, I've made a very, very slow start of a Greenland seiner ... basically a Danish anchor dragger ... from original lines. Finally prepared the paper moulds for the frames only a few days ago. This is another biggish beast being 3/4-in to the ft.
Management not happy as the house is cluttered up with models, including two ringers, plus bits of Sequoiah
    Have a brill Christmas

I have a mould for a crabber in the house waiting for
me to take a lift out of it, will take a spare  un out if u want one while im at it if u want. And the Royal "turd" in the sample jar used to sit on the shelf in the "unwinding" bar on the Yacht Jay!!

    Hiya Hugh
    Hope you're having a decent Xmas/NY break!
What style of crabber is it? French perchance?
So the story of the royal turd had substance after all!
We're battened down again this morning ... howling outside
Thankfully Seq is snug at Muirtown Basin and therefore not a major souce of worry
