Golden View ...one man and his boat!
Can't wait to do it all again next year.
Your boat looks great in this pic, maybe that was the best weeks weather of last year
The weather was fantastic last spring, in fact a bit hot for scrubbing the hull clean.
It would be great to have a proper slipping facility in the harbour. There are certainly plenty of fishing and pleasure boats to warrant it.
Still a great place to keep a boat.

Her bottom looks in really good condition Brian. Shame as many of the old boats have gone under the Chainsaw lot o yrs left in some of them.
And I wish the weather was like that just now need to finish caulking the fore deck so we can get stuck into the accomodation??
You not got that finished yet Hugh? Come on what are you doing?

Hi Brian & All
Know what you mean about slipping, Alan and I are considering that when the local club we are in get the plastics put back in we ask the crane to lift Christina out for a month, we'll get her dried,
checked out, some hull woodwork done, new anodes and a good paint up. Between tides is ok but!.
Only thing is I am not a fan of slings, rather have a trolley out, but that is proving difficult around here.

Christina has a fairly light keel does she not with the keelson timber above and then the floors above that and bolted through? That's how Margaret Alison was built (she was a pre-War Weatherhead). It's not as strong as those boats fitted with a hog above floors.
I watched one of the former "Blue boats" of Fisherrow being lifted using slings and she didn't look happy
There's still the trolley slip at Arbroath, is there not, even if it is a bit further than you really want to travel??

Hi
Shemaron didnt suffer by being lifted out with slings, but it is stressfull and prob best to avoid if poss, Bob i would have thought that if you can change a stern gland prop and rudder between tides you can pretty much do anything
