MacBraynes Lochmor/Lochearn
Dowler this is a very old picture it could also be the Lochness I think she came off the Castlebay run 53/54, the Marsalle was'nt very old when she went to Portavogie.
Spoke to the old man-he reckons lochmor - mallaig based, lochearn he said was mainly oban also lochness was a steamship with a larger lum.
Lochearn used to relieve Loch mor on Small Isles run and then meet Claymore in Lochboisdale and go to Lochmaddy and Tarbert Harris spent a few holidays on them both late 50s bruv was purser on them.
You are spot on Dowler Tarbert back to Kyle that was there base not Mallaig the first boat that they based in mallaig was that car ferry on the Armadale run I think she was called Clansman. Lochmore used Mallaig Mon..Wed...Fri only, Loch seaforth used it every day.
